The better way to compress / optimize / minify APNG
The APNG format is a collection of PNG images used as frames. This is great because it's one of the few efficient ways to display animations with a transparent backgrounds on all sorts of browsers and media.
You could disassemble the APNG into frames, compress each PNG frame, and assemble the APNG back. If the PNG frame compression is lossless, the minification will be small. If the PNG compression is lossy, the APNG assembly will fail because different color palettes are used by the different frames.
For better performance in the minification, we need each frame to be aware of the others.
When the minification is aware of the color used in other frames, it can generate a global color palette for the whole APNG. We can then limit the size of that color palette and significantly reduce the amount of information stored by the APNG file.
